Interface Welcomes New Youth Web Developer Instructor – Gretchen Larsen

We are excited to welcome new Youth Web Developer Course instructor, Gretchen Larsen to the Interface team!

GretchenGretchen studied linguistics and cognitive sciences at Wellesley College, where she was introduced to writing simple code to run statistical analyses for the National Institute on Out-of-School Time (NIOST). She received the Anne Murray Ladd grant to continue her work at NIOST, this time as a research associate evaluating Boston and Providence Public Schools’ STEM focused summer learning programs. Through site observations, data collection, comparative analyses and literature reviews she built a foundational understanding of quality technology programming.

Since her move back to Lincoln she has worked in the nonprofit sector with Humanities Nebraska, LPS’ Arts & Humanities Focus Program, and local software start-up PreSage Analytics (a part of iSoft Data Systems). Currently she does contract work as a web developer and designer, serves on the board to grow the new community-based makerspace, MakeShift, and is a recent graduate of Interface’s Front End Web Development course in Lincoln.
